The A Tale for the Time Being: Publishing Now strand now includes a look at our ever popular literary festivals.

The New Statesman recently said that, for literary festivals, “Scottish festivals set the best example”. From magazines to the international and local book festivals, Scotland is brimming with events that allow people to engage with, explore and celebrate various elements of publishing, from history and design to authors and the impact of books. Here, we put that under the microscope with representatives of some fine festivals our country has to offer to see just what goes into making them so chuffing great!

Director of Literary Dundee Peggy is at the forefront of Scotland’s literary festival scene and knows what it takes to pull off a successful and memorable programme.

Nikki Simpsonnikki-simpson

Nikki is the Business Manager at PPA Scotland and has worked on the increasingly popular annual magazine festival MagFest in Edinburgh.

Ali is the Director of Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust where she maintains Edinburgh’s prestigious literary status through numerous channels including festivals. She will be chairing the session.
