We are very pleased to announce that Nick Barley, Director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, will be delivering the keynote speech at the inaugural SYP Scotland conference!
He promises to deliver “a rallying call to publishers, authors, editors, agents and readers to make the most of the amazing opportunities Scotland offers.”
Nick (selected as an industry “Trendsetter” in The Bookseller’s Top 100 list) has worked his way through the industry, moving from being a publisher at Blueprint to editor of The List to his current role of Director at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, a post he has held since 2009.
SYP Scotland co-chair Rosie Howie has said:
“It is a real honour to have Nick Barley confirmed as the Keynote for the Society of Young Publishers’ first ever Scottish conference. We aim to showcase the best of Scottish publishing on the day and are thrilled to have Nick kicking things off in style.”
