It’s time for our annual reshuffle ahead of our AGM at the end of March. Our 2015 committee did a fantastic job this last year, from panel discussions, movie screenings, online events and, of course, organising our fantastic conference that takes place next month. Do you have what it takes to help SYP Scotland continue to grow and make 2016 a success? We’ve got a few positions opening up.

Student Liaison Officer
This is ideally suited for an undergraduate. You will maintain contact with careers services and student groups to make sure SYP’s events and updates are reaching the relevant people, and students looking to pursue publishing. You will also be the point of contact for our student reps at both the Napier and Stirling publishing courses.
This role includes taking minutes at our monthly meetings and all secretarial duties including maintaining post-event surveys. You will also be tasked with working on driving SYP Scotland membership, answering membership queries and liaising with London to receive our updated membership lists regularly.
You will take responsibility for booking venues for our events, purchasing speaker gifts and approaching and liaising with speakers for our events. This is primarily a logistical role for implementing our events.
You will handle SYP Scotland’s finances and budget, keeping track of all expenditure and paying invoices and bills when required.
Please note that we host monthly meetings where we consistently plan for the future, and in being part of the committee you will have the chance to offer significant input into the direction and ideas of events, our online calendar, and any ways to broaden what SYP Scotland does regardless of the role you have. Positions are also voluntary.
