Join the Saltire Society Literary Awards shadow judging panel!

saltireThe Society of Young Publishers Scotland are thrilled to be partnering with the Saltire Society to give you the chance to be on a shadow judging panel for four of their Award categories this year! We’re looking for a mix of students, young publishers and anyone involved in books to form a shadow judging panel for the 2015 Awards. It won’t have an impact on the final outcome, but it will give you the chance to work with the Saltire Society and get a little insight into how the awards process works.

What you would be doing:

  • You will get a copy of the shortlist for your designated category to read (about 5-7 books).
  • You meet up with your group to discuss in a book club format.
  • Group meet up: Between 7th November and the 13th of November in Edinburgh.
  • You will be expected to take part in either a blog or podcast for the discussion.

Deadline for applications: Sunday, 4th of October 2015.
What we need from you: 100 words about why you’re suited to the opportunity via our application form.

This is a very exciting opportunity. Previously, one student was chosen per year to review one category of books, so this year opens it up to a wider range of students and professionals, to make it a bigger and more interactive experience, and we hope to see you there!
