We’re pulling in guest posts from all over for our book club, and the first comes from Joanna Bolouri, author of The List, one of the books picked on our main book club post, and upcoming I Followed The Rules.
The List follows Phoebe, the fearless new singleton who, instead of pining for a new boyfriend, sets off on a list of sexual adventures, and makes you bark with laughter along the way. So what book makes Joanna laugh?
Choice: Bossypants – Tina Fey.
The last book I can remember laughing hard and long at was Bossypants by Tina Fey but I’m a huge fan of her work anyway. Her tone, phrasing and no-bullshit approach is hysterical.
I like women who have something to say and the way she’s able to set a scene or simply get her point across in a humorous, no-bullshit way is very appealing and a pleasure to read.
For fans of: Lena Dunham, Amy Poehler and Sarah Silverman.
Describe in three words: Sharp. Hilarious. Inspiring.
We’ve got more guest posts and giveaways coming up for #SYPScotBookClub, so be sure to take part and share your favourite book for this theme over here!
