Friday (10th April) marked the presentation of Floris Books’ 2nd Kelpies Design & Illustration Prize. The aim of the prize is to seek out new talent in the world of Scottish design and illustration, and this year, they were tasked with creating a new cover for Allan Campbell McLean’s The Hill of the Red Fox. The cold war spy adventure is set on the Isle of Skye, and all twelve finalists all came up with excellent – and diverse – interpretations of the brief.
All twelve designs are on display at The Creative Exchange, 29 Constitution Street, Edinburgh, 10pm-5pm until this Friday, April 17th. If you have the time, do try to view the exhibit, which comes complete with added information about all designs and the designers too.
